Hopewell Meeting House Thomas Marquis Springhouse on Stonebrook RoadPictured is the Hopewell Friends Meeting House (quakers) and the Thomas Marquis springhouse on Stonebrook Road. Frederick County was named for Frederick Louis, Prince of Wales and the eldest son of George II. It was created from Orange County in 1738; part of Augusta County was added later. The county seat is Winchester.
