William Ludwell Lee Last Will and Testament Found!

William Ludwell Lee 1775-1804 of Greenfield Plantation near Jamestown, Virginia made a will and codicil detailing where and how he was to be buried, along with markers and construction improvements at the Jamestown Church!   This will was lost with the seveal burnings of Jamestown from the earliest colonial period.  He left his respected friend, James Madison, the contents of his library and other bequests went to William and Mary College.  However, a copy of the will was probated elsewhere.  To discover and read this old relic, become a member of Virginia Pioneers and go to the James City County probate records.
